Curs tehnica linguala STb
Lector: Dr. Giuseppe Scuzzo
COURSE OUTLINE
The growing world wide demand for invisible treatment is encouraging more practitioner to exploit lingual orthodontics; Lingual Straight Wire (LSW) developed by Dr. Giuseppe Scuzzo and Dr. Kyoto Takemoto represent the latest evolution of this technique.
The New STb (Scuzzo Takemoto bracket) has been designed to improve the quality and comfort of orthodontic treatment for the patient, allowing to reach the maximum functional and aesthetic clinical result in shorter treatment time.
The New STb is a lingual bracket “patient-oriented”. The quick tongue adaptation (2-4 days max) thanks to its reduced thickness (1.5mm) give the maximum biomechanical control due to the .018x.025” slot size precision. The New STb bracket is the thinnest lingual
orthodontic bracket which lets the patient forget he is wearing a fixed appliance, not only when he looks in the mirror but also when he speaks or cleans his teeth.
The Lingual Straight Wire and Light Lingual System philosophy is based on 3 fundamental points that makes this new approach innovative compared with other lingual orthodontics techniques:
- Low friction Designed as low-friction system, the New STb lingual appliance moves teeth notably faster than conventional lingual appliances, reducing overall treatment time;
- Low forces Llight-force archwires (.012/.013 Copper Ni-Ti) used in conjunction with the STb lingual appliance express biological forces compatible with the neuromuscolar system. Such light forces are enough to initiate teeth movements with less damages to root surface(dental stress) and their use is recommended in order to avoid ischemia, local necrosis, tissue damage reducing patient discomfort caused by tooth movement.
- No mushroom archwire shape due to the straight wire features.
The LSW technique is also an open system especially for laboratory procedure. Improvements in customized bracket base design and bonding systems have led to the development of a precise direct bonding system, called “KommonBase”.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is directed at those who want to get to know and learn not only the basic principles of Lingual Straight Wire technique but also to study in depth the problems and the solutions.
Everyone taking part can acquire an operative method (bonding and laboratory procedures) and learn the systematic of light lingual treatment, based on low forces and low friction mechanics.
A complete description of the Set-up laboratory procedure including digital approach for LSW will be given to the participants. Also the extraction and non extraction treatment management, including the improvements in absolute anchorage control will complete this course We will also focus on “Social 6” treatment ,an easy way to incorporate lingual orthodontics in the daily practice to solve, in a very short treatment time, minor crowding on upper and lower six anteriors.
The participants will learn a step by step method which can be applied immediately to their professional activity. The discussion and presentation of numerous clinical cases with different orthodontic problems treated with New STb LSW will furnish each participant the know-how of management and application.
